From Boise, Ortuzar calls on Basques from the diaspora to take advantage of the "great opportunity" for the Basque Country "to take its own place in the world"

At the celebration of the 120th anniversary of the founding of EAJ-PNV, the president of the Euzkadi Buru Batzar (Basque National Council) paid tribute to the Basques in the "eighth territory" and reminded us that, for all these years, the Jeltzale group has been at the service of Basque society and development of the Basque Country.

In Boise (Idaho, United States), Andoni Ortuzar, president of the Euzkadi Buru Batzar, presided over the celebration of 120 years since the birth of the Basque Nationalist Party. In a public ceremony held at Grove Plaza, Ortuzar stressed in Basque and English that the PNV has been at the service of Basque society and the development of the Basque Country throughout its history, and sought the assistance of Basque Americans to take advantage of the great opportunity that is opening up for the Basque Country to create a space of its own in this globalised world. The president of Euzkadi Buru Batzar was accompanied by the Basque regional president, Urkullu, the mayor of Boise, David Bieter, the head of international relations of the EBB, Iñaki Goikoetxeta, Unai Rementeria, deputy general of Biscay, Rafa Anchia, congressman of the Democratic Party in Texas and a hundred supporters of the Jeltzale group, who had come both from the Basque Country and elsewhere in the world. The event ended with the presentation of an "argizaiola" (carved wooden candle holder) to the mayor of Boise, in representation of the American diaspora, in gratitude for his help in keeping the flame of the Basque cause.
