Maider Unda takes the bronze medal at the European games and Maialen Chorraut the gold in the K-1 World Cup

Maider Unda won the bronze medal at the first European Games that were held in Baku. Meanwhile, Chorraut won the final of the K-1 Slalom World Cup, which took place in the Polish town of Krakow.

The freestyle wrestler from Vitoria managed to overcome the German Maria Selmaier 5-2. Despite getting a bye in the first round after the draw, Maider Unda was unable to eliminate the Belarusian Vasilisa Marzaliuk in the semi-finals in an evenly matched and very hard contest. In the end she managed to take the bronze medal.

The canoeist from Lasarte-Oria, is the K-1 Slalom World Cup champion, a triumph that she can add to being the European champion in her category, a feat she achieved on May 31 in Germany.
